Our National Security Global Business is currently seeking a Biomedical Intelligence Analyst 4 to fill a position at a Battelle facility in the Metro Washington, DC area for full-time, regular shift work. Relocation is not available for this position. A full benefits package will be provided.

POSITION DESCRIPTION

The Biomedical Intelligence Analyst 4 is responsible for leading analytical tasks as assigned and provides solutions to an assortment of intelligence assessment activities. This analyst is expected to have experience with biomedical scientific research and will be expected to work on teams. The analyst will conduct research, perform analysis, complete classified analytic products, maintain metrics on production, and brief on the products. Under supervision, they will be expected to employ new methodologies and utilize new technologies to assist with analysis. The position involves applying fundamental concepts, practices and procedures to conduct a variety of intelligence analysis projects; capturing information and data regarding intelligence needs of clients; analyzing and synthesizing information as needed. Research and analysis will require the development of complex data query strategies and the application of an array of emerging information technologies developed by Battelle. Advanced tools employed will include state-of-the-art data mining and information visualization capabilities that facilitate the development of a variety of tailored products and assessments.

THIS POSITION MAY REQUIRE SHIFT WORK TO SUPPORT CONTINGENCY OPERATIONS IN THE EVENT OF A PUBLIC HEALTH CRISIS.

THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS MUST BE MET TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
1. Master's degree in a health and life sciences discipline (Biology, Public Health, Epidemiology or Bio-Chemistry)or an MD or DVM.
2. A minimum of 7 years professional experience post award of the degree.
3. Intelligence analysis experience or scientific research in support of the Department of Defense.
4. Familiarity and previous use of analytic tools and exposure to new analytic methodologies used by various members of the intelligence community.
5. Excellent oral and written communication skills.
6. General knowledge of US foreign policy.
7. A thorough knowledge of U.S. regulations governing intelligence operations and DoD activities.
8. Experience working with complex structured and unstructured databases.
9. Developed data mining and information analysis skills.
10. Applicants must have held an active DoD Top Secret clearance within the past five years.

THE FOLLOWING IS DESIRED, BUT NOT REQUIRED TO BE CONSIDERED FOR THIS POSITION
1. Experience supporting deployed combatant command forces.
2. Experience and training in bio safety.
3. Knowledge of biosafety, toxicology, and biosurveillance
4. Familiarity with the different types of diagnostics available for infectious diseases
5. Knowledge of human and animal high containment biological facilities
6. At least one year of experience working bio-defense issues (three or more years is preferred)
