JOB SUMMARY: The HRIS Analyst is the technical point-of-contact for HR and Payroll functional areas assisting subject matter experts with ensuring data integrity, testing of system changes, report writing and analyzing data flows for process improvement opportunities. The position provides functional and technical support for the vendor-hosted Archdiocese of Washington(ADW)/Catholic Charities Common Human Resource Information System (CHRIS) upgrades, patches, testing and other system-related projects. The HRIS Analyst is the lead functional expert responsible for bringing a phased Enterprise HRIS from implementation to maturity.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Production Support/System Issue Resolution.
    1. Research/resolve issues related to HR, Benefits, Payroll, and Time & Attendance.
    2. Coordinate inter-department data dependencies.
    3. Recommend solutions or alternate methods to meet requirements.
  • Reports/Queries.
    1. Develop and manage reports or queries using CHRIS application reporting tools including Cognos.
    2. Proactively develop standard reports for internal customer needs.
    3. Proactively maintain data integrity through audit queries.
  • Projects/Process Improvement.
    1. Incorporate innovative solutions and/or policy changes into system solutions.
    2. Act as key liaison with third parties, vendors, and other stakeholders.
    3. Act as project manager for assigned process improvement projects.
  • System Maintenance.
    1. Review and testing of HRIS system upgrades or patches.
    2. Collaborate with SaaS vendor to coordinate application upgrades or fixes.
    3. Document process and results where necessary.
  • Research and Development
    1. Research and maintain current knowledge level of emerging HRIS trends and best practices, key technologies and delivery.
    2. Audit and recommend technical and functional training for core HRIS systems and technology.
    3. Represent Catholic Charities in user groups and conferences'.

Training

  • Develop job aids for procedures and/or guidelines.
  • Train internal clients on new processes/functionality.

EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Human Resources or related field.
  • PHR/SPHR or Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or (Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred.
  • 3 years of HRIS system administration experience. Business Intelligence reporting (BIR)strongly preferred.
  • 1 year of general Human Resources experience.
  • 1 year of project management/systems implementation experience.
  • Experience with an enterprise HRIS such as UKG Software, People-soft, Lawson or ADP EV2 (Ultimate's UltiPro Core HR strongly preferred).
  • Experience developing and editing reports using complex reporting tools, such as Cognos or Report Smith required (Cognos strongly preferred).
  • Experience developing technical job aids, functional directions and in-person presentations to all levels of users, including executive and entry-level.

SKILLS and COMPETENCIES:

  • Problem-solving ability. Knowledge and understanding of HR processes and data.
  • Understanding of HRIS database design, structure, functions and processes.
  • Skill in the use of computers, preferably in a PC, Windows-based operating environment; knowledge of MS Excel, Word, PowerPoint, MS Access, MS Publisher and other presentation and editing software.
