SUMMARY OF DUTIES:
This position is responsible for direct supervision of T&E Crew Management Representatives and Administrators within a centralized CMS office. Responsible for the accurate position control of 3500 Train & Engine employees with a total operating cost of $400,000,000 annually. Communicates with T&E field management, labor relations and union leadership to manage the day-to-day T&E operation.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
* Directs the Crew Management operation and all processes related to supporting the operation.* Responsible to review, recommend, and implement all crew changes necessary for the efficient operation of trains throughout the country, including working a desk when necessary.
* Responsible to develop costs of couplet changes, additions, deletions, in order to provide field supervision complete awareness of on-board budgetary operational costs.
* Review national train schedules, holiday schedules, track work schedule changes, and service disruption changes to ensure sufficient staffing levels.
* Responsible to manage day to day operational processes and the assignments of all 3500 T&E employees. Plays a vital role in the formation of crew couplets.
* Works closely with field operations and supporting departments to plan and direct proper staffing levels through service disruptions and emergencies.
* Has a cost center/budget responsibility for their department, and are directly responsible for 7 to 15 CMR's who report directly to these positions.
* Responsible for developing staff through training and mentoring.
* Responsible for administering remedial training, formal discipline and disqualification using the Remedial Training Log.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
* Bachelor's Degree in business administration, operation management, transportation management or related field, or the equiv. combination of education, training, and/or experience.* 6+ years of relevant experience required. 8+ years of relevant experience preferred.
* Demonstrated experience in Crew Management T&E environment. Must have thorough knowledge of the operating agreement. Must be able to manage, train and motivate a union workforce.
* Possesses a working knowledge of MS Office, SAP, VSSPRO, Arrow, LMS and ILMS.
* Must be flexible with regard to work hours and on call availability. Be able to work long hours in the event of a service disruption or during peak operation periods.
* Demonstrated ability to improve work processes in their department, business units and functional areas in support of the strategic plan.
* Experience in working with multiple team members and senior staff. Able to communicate well with senior management both orally and in writing. Build relationships in adherence with all of Amtrak's core competencies.

Must have excellent oral and written communication skills.

PAY TRANSPARENCY:

The salary/hourly range is$94, 300 - $122,256.Payis based on several factors including butnot limited to education, work experience,certifications,internal equity,etc. Depending on anemployee's assigned worksite orlocation, Amtrak may consider a geo-pay differential to beapplied to the employee's basesalary. Amtrak may offer additional incentive and payprograms to recognize and rewardour employees, including a short-term incentive bonusbased upon factors such as individualand company performance that is commensurate withthe level of the position and/or long-term incentive plan compensation.
