About the Position
CQ Roll Call is seeking a journalist to join our dynamic, enthusiastic reporting team. The journalist will write, with the collaboration of an experienced and collaborative four-person health team, a daily newsletter when Congress is in session that focuses on federal health care policy, tracking developments that are of interest to the most important decision makers in the country.

This is an important role - health is one of our flagship issues, and the health newsletter is considered one of our most well-read and well-established products. At CQ Roll Call, we keep our readers up to date on federal health legislation, appropriation and agency policy, covering the CDC, FDA, HHS and other health agencies. This role will also cover veterans health.

You'll be joining one of the most collaborative and collegial teams at CQ Roll Call, working with experienced reporters who have covered the gamut of health related topics: from Medicare policy to reproductive policy to public health. We are a small but scrappy team with big ambition - you'll be working for a well-established brand with decades of experience training the best reporters in D.C.

Our focus is on Congress, so if you want to cover Capitol Hill, this is a great place for you. We keep our readers informed about the content of legislation as it is being drafted, marked up in committee, and ultimately goes to the House and Senate floor. Our job is to provide news and analysis through print, digital and audio. This role will offer you the opportunity to break news, write enterprise stories, and shape the content of a newsletter. Your expertise will also be used for podcasts, videos, and events.
