Sr. Logistician

Position Summary:
As a Sr. Logistician, you will play a crucial role in supporting the Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) activities and projects. Your expertise will encompass a wide range of responsibilities to ensure effective ship supportability and life cycle management in accordance with DoD acquisition policies and regulations for PMS 300 and 325 at the Washington Navy Yard.

Clearance Requirements:
  • Must be a US citizen with the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD Secret security clearance.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  • ILS Project Oversight: Assist in planning, executing, integrating, and overseeing all ILS activities, providing valuable insights to develop innovative solutions and process improvements.
  • Ship Supportability Expertise: Utilize your in-depth knowledge of commercial and US Navy ships, along with Foreign Military Sales (FMS) requirements, to address ship supportability issues and life cycle support.
  • Logistics Support: Provide comprehensive logistics, technical, and operational knowledge, particularly in MSC policies and procedures, to ensure effective ship support.
  • Project Management: Utilize your Project Management Professional (PMP) certification and extensive experience to efficiently manage logistics projects.
  • Supervisory Role: Lead and supervise teams, effectively communicating complex logistics concepts to SES/Flag level personnel.
  • Navy Procedures and Policies: Demonstrate knowledge and experience in Navy procedures and Policies, including the DoD 5000 process.
  • MSC ILS Procedures and Processes: Familiarity with Military Sealift Command ILS procedures and processes to ensure successful logistics support for MSC assets.
  • Product Support Management: Possess Product Support Management Professional certification for enhanced expertise.
  • Business Management Disciplines: Utilize your education and experience in logistics, engineering, or business management disciplines to contribute to effective program management.
  • Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process optimization and efficiency in logistics and support activities.
Required Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Bachelor's degree in logistics, engineering, or business management disciplines.
  • 15+ years of experience in Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification for 5+ years.
  • Supervisory experience; experience communicating logistics concepts to SES/Flag level personnel.
Preferred Education, Skills and Experience:
  • Master's Degree in logistics, engineering, or business management disciplines.
  • Product Support Management Professional certification for 10+ years.
  • 20+ years of experience in Navy program management, Government technical management, or Industry business management.
  • Knowledge/Experience in Navy procedures and Policies (DoD 5000 process); Military Sealift Command (MSC) ILS procedures and processes; Foreign Military Sales; Supervisory experience; experience communicating logistics concepts to SES/Flag level personnel.
Physical Demands & Expectations:
  • Ability to speak, read, hear and write, with or without assistance
  • Ability to use phone and computer systems, copier, fax and other office equipment
