DESCRIPTION & DETAILS
Holton-Arms is seeking a passionate, experienced, student-centered Middle School Science Teacher. This position will require teaching four sections of middle school science, working closely with a team to create and implement curriculum for both seventh and eighth -grade students while serving as a co-advisor to a group of students. The School seeks candidates who are:
  • Passionate about science and teaching Middle School students;
  • Experienced with lab and activities-based curricula;
  • Effective communicator with various constituents including parents;
  • Prepared to commit to and promote the School's Mission as well as the institutional priorities embodied in the School's philosophy of , and the
  • Dedicated to curriculum redesign towards a more deliberate anti-racist curriculum.
QUALIFICATIONS
The successful candidate should have:
  • Three to five years of relevant teaching experience and curriculum development
  • A Bachelor's degree or higher in a field of science or middle school science education.
  • Experience embedding Social and Emotional Learning, Diversity, Equity, Inclusion & Belonging, and Global Competencies into their curriculum
  • Experience leading an advisory is preferred
  • Passion for working with middle school girls
  • Commitment to creating a student-centered, project-based, and competency-driven classroom
  • Proficiency with technology and digital platforms in the classroom
  • Eagerness to collaborate with colleagues within and across disciplines
  • Commitment to continued professional learning
