To support our mission, we are seeking a Senior Coordinator, Donor Relations to join the Development team.

As an integral part of a cross-functional team, the Senior Coordinator, Donor Relations is responsible for a range of solicitation and operations functions aimed at ensuring the continued success across the National Wildlife Federation's fundraising and donor engagement efforts.

The Senior Coordinator will work in conjunction and through the direction of the Director for Donor Relations & Special Giving to create engaging programming for a rapidly growing segment of our donors. This role will provide support and management around donor mailings, donor events, and collateral production essential to the solicitation, engagement, and stewardship of important donor segments. They will work with team leads to build and manage annual stewardship calendars and facilitate critical planning meetings to ensure coordinated efforts as needed.

The primary focus area for this position will be the production management for the mid-level program's marketing and communication efforts, providing support with content generation, internal review, production, and delivery while managing deadlines. These efforts directly influence revenue and will require strong attention for detail. This person will be tasked with tailoring and adopting stewardship efforts and campaigns to offer engagement to major giving supporters as well.

The ideal candidate will be team focused, working alongside giving officers, team leads, and multiple external partners to address special needs, inquiries received, and targeted outreach as needed. Strong writing and copy-editing skills are desired. They will be effectively cross-trained and versed in the CRM systems, protocols, and data management best practices.

As this position will, at times, be forward-facing with members and supporters, they are expected to possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Principle Duties (major areas of responsibility):

Oversee & Harmonize Donor Content

  • In conjunction with the Director for Donor Relations & Special Giving, effectively generate content, oversee internal review, production, and delivery of various direct marketing packages, solicitations, and fundraising appeals as relevant to the Individual Giving units, President's Leadership Council, and/or our CEO.
  • Work directly with external consultants to oversee the production and delivery of creative packages, including oversight of initial kickoff meetings, notes and resources, timelines, copywriting, design, and final production.
  • In coordination with the Donor Relations Team, lead production and management of communications calendars for mid-level and major giving, ensuring coherent thematic approaches across all Individual Giving units and their elevated giving circles.
  • Adapt content for the major gifts team, including tailored solicitations and benefits packages.
  • Adapt content from the Membership team for mid-level and coordinate upgrade potential within mid-level.
  • Create communications to capture donor interests through solicitations and direct marketing packages.
  • Ensure scientific integrity of content through ownership of internal approvals for all donor communications.
  • Collaborate with various business units, program leads, and agency partners regularly, helping to ensure teams are communicating and working together effectively to produce a coherent approach to donor engagement.
  • In coordination with the Magazine team, create a path to collaborate on content and capitalized on opportunities for shared efforts.
  • Aid and coordinate with the Director for Donor Relations & Special Giving to oversee all mid-level donor content.

Engage with Donors

  • Work directly with Individual Giving unit leads to build an understanding of donor engagement needs to foster a shared forum for ideas from which to build better stewardship opportunities for important donor segments like mid-level and the President's Leadership Council, and assist in the planning and coordination of various Council activities.
  • Spearhead, create and manage execution of promotions for online donor engagement events (All Access).
  • Spearhead and create communication and promotions for in-person donor engagement events, when applicable.
  • Assist with implementation of all donor engagement events online and in-person.
  • Assist in the creation of communication for donor inquiries and/or targeted outreach as needed.
  • Provide hand raising opportunities through highly tailored and targeted outreach to prospective donors.
  • As needed, provide direct support to the Federation's senior staff and volunteer leadership in the development and implementation of strategies to cultivate, engage, solicit, and steward prospective funders and existing donors.
  • Assist with and field inquiries from the Federation's Board of Directors and VIP supporters in a timely and professional manner.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Operational Support

  • Provide administrative support to the Individual Philanthropy team, including assistance in scheduling and preparing presentation materials for meetings, donor mailings, premium organization, and generating and reviewing donor and corporate solicitation and acknowledgment letters and reports.
  • Maintain constituent profiles and accurately enters demographic information, contact reports, and various moves relating to donor qualification, cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship, performing these and other CRM-related functions with regularity and consistency.
  • Assist with Individual Giving team programs, projects, and miscellaneous initiatives.
  • Create, provide, and circulate key performance indicator reports as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • College Degree and/or 3-5 demonstrated years of experience within direct fundraising or nonprofit organizations required.
  • Growth mindset in partnership with the commitment to create, foster, and build a healthy and equitable work environment required.
  • Penchant for effectively and efficiently managing multiple processes and deadlines, ideally in a fast-paced environment.
  • Superior interpersonal skills, and excellent writing and communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and serve as an integral part of the team.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with CRM, various databases, and management reporting tools.
  • A passion for the preservation and protection of wildlife and wild places a plus.

Travel Requirements:

Occasional travel to our Headquarters located in Reston, Virginia as well as to board or donor events.

Location and Work Mode:

This position will have full time remote capabilities with the expectation of occasional visits to our headquarters in Reston, Virginia. Compensation and Benefits:

The salary range for this position is $50,000 - $60,000, commensurate with experience.
