Essential Job Functions

  • We are seeking an Associate Director to join our team, primarily responsible for overseeing the day-to-day management of e-discovery operations and supporting innovation initiatives, working closely with the Associate Director of Litigation & Practice Delivery to ensure alignment with strategic goals. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in e-discovery and general legal technology, a passion for operational excellence, and the ability to drive innovation in a supportive capacity.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS (This list is not exhaustive and may be supplemented and changed as necessary.)

  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of e-discovery and innovation applications, ensuring reliability, performance, and user satisfaction.
  • Provide technical guidance and leadership to the Litigation & Practice Technology team, and Practice Innovation team, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and excellence.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate e-discovery and innovation solutions with other legal and business applications.
  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of e-discovery and innovation delivery processes.
  • Stay abreast of industry trends and advancements in e-discovery technology and evaluate potential impacts on operations.
  • Support innovation initiatives within the team, contributing technical insights and operational perspectives to new projects.
  • Ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, and organizational standards and best practices in e-discovery technology management.
  • Assist with budget planning, procurement of new software solutions, and license/subscription renewals.
  • Develop and/or lead change management efforts across all phases of projects and initiatives to drive the Firm's culture of continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Requirements

Education, Work Experience, Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Significant experience in e-discovery and legal application management, with a proven track record of operational excellence.
  • Strong technical acumen, with expertise in e-discovery tools and technologies, and general legal technology tools
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills, with the ability to guide and motivate a technical team.
  • Familiarity with legal processes and requirements related to e-discovery.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with stakeholders across the organization.
  • Innovative mindset, with a willingness to explore and support new ideas and solutions.
  • Proven change management skills.

Technologies/Software

  • E-Discovery Case Management Applications (ie. Relativity, Reveal, etc.), Innovation applications trending in legal tech today and in the future (ie. closing book automation, document automation, Generative AI, etc).
