Our Traffic Engineering Business Unit focuses on traffic engineering, transportation systems, and multimodal traffic operations. We are seeking a highly motivated Associate Market Leader to join our Traffic Engineering Business Unit in Virginia. This position participates in project delivery and business development efforts for the service line/business unit/group by maintaining client relationships and identifying opportunities. This position will help to support Mead & Hunt's current work and expansion in the Virginia market.

Responsibilities include:

* Technical Engineering

o Manage projects and oversee project team tasks and deliverables, including serving as client liaison

o Interact with clients at project meetings and build strong relationships

o Perform traffic analysis, signal timing optimization, field traffic studies

o Prepare technical reports and memos

o Lead a project team in the design of traffic control devices

* Business Development

o Work with our marketing team to attend conferences and events to promote brand and build relationships. Deliver technical presentations, serve on professional society boards, serve and/or moderate panels, and author blogs.

o Track upcoming pursuits, visit current and potential clients to stay apprised of their needs, learn about their business, and to explain what services Mead & Hunt can provide to them.

o Monitor trends and share information in the assigned market.

o Lead and coordinate and/or support proposal efforts including preparing the RFP response and interviews.

o Maintain relationships with potential and current teaming partners.

o Assist in identifying potential new markets and service lines.

o Work with peers within the company to cross-sell other areas of business. Assist in developing a comprehensive, cohesive marketing strategy in coordination with marketing team and market leaders across the company as it relates to the assigned market.

* General

o Collaborate with other Mead & Hunt offices

o Perform other duties as assigned

The successful candidate will have all the following:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering
  • 15+ years of relevant work experience
  • A PE license
  • A valid driver's license/clean MVR
  • Travel will be required
  • Familiarity with Synchro or other similar traffic engineering software platforms

The ideal candidate will have any/all of the following:

  • Knowledge and experience with VDOT and the Virginia Transportation Engineering market
  • Experience with both public and private transportation engineering services
  • Ability to attend technical meetings and conferences after hours and on weekends
