Job Description

WR Grace is seeking a Supervisor, Stationary Engineer & Maintenance for our Baltimore/Curtis Bay, MD Plant. This person will report to the Manufacturing Engineer, Powerhouse.

Responsibilities
  • Assure regulatory compliance and a safe workplace for all employees. Address hazards, deviations, and injures in a timely manner.
  • Work to ensure a safe working environment for employees and environmental compliance for area of responsibility.
  • Reviews performance of employees and works to improve performance and productivity. Holds employees accountable for working safely and productively, producing quality work.
  • Directs Site Powerhouse operations and maintenance/construction activities in the powerhouse.
  • Works with Central Maintenance Planners to plan and schedule maintenance work.
  • Responsible for area reporting requirements including SAP PM Information, labor reporting, and document preparation, etc.
  • Conform to ISO 9002 and GMP standards.
  • Ensure water treatment program for boiler is sustained.
  • Strive to reduce maintenance costs and ensures the timely reporting of expenditures.
  • Ensures compliance with codes and standards for all work within areas of responsibility.
  • Supports maintenance excellence initiatives and capital projects.
  • Evaluates SAP PM requirements and helps to develop equipment maintenance plans.
  • Understand, interpret, and administer union contract agreement. Holds first step grievance meetings.
Physical Requirements and Environment
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a laboratory environment with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to follow safety protocols and standards working in a pilot plant facility with highly hazardous materials
  • Ability to work in a high hazard environment, including adverse weather conditions, elevated spaces, confined spaces, extreme temperatures, and noisy surroundings.
  • Must be able to stand, walk, sit, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, and climb stairs and ladders over 100 ft.
  • Must be willing to wear PPE (Personal Protective equipment) including but not limited to hard hat, protective eyewear, steel-toed boots, hearing protection, Level A suit, full face respirator
Required Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED
  • 7+ years of maintenance/construction experience
  • Maryland Class-1 Stationary Engineer License
  • Team Leadership Skills
  • Good people skills
  • Ability to handle multiple tasks
  • Strong communication skills across different functional groups
  • Broad chemical plant and maintenance knowledge and experience
  • Capable of leading change within an organization
  • Ability to work rotating shifts
Preferred Qualifications
  • Previous supervisory experience in facility and or maintenance is strongly preferred.
  • SAP experience preferred.
