GENERAL SUMMARY/ OVERVIEW STATEMENT:

Under the supervision of the Division Chief, Director of Nursing and Collaborating Physician, the Nurse Practitioner will work in the Neurobehavioral, Frontal Temporal Dementia, Functional Neurology Disorders and Ataxia clinics; performing clinic visits (in person and televisits) and work closely with other departments and divisions leading clinical continuity. The Nurse Practitioner will take a leading role in managing complex patients referred for assessment and care. The Nurse Practitioner will help plan, refine, and extend care activities beyond the walls of the clinic to integrate care and improve patients' experience more fully.

The position requires superb organizational skills, interpersonal skills, initiative and innovation. The ideal candidate is flexible, independent, and willing to participate in multiple activities while providing support to patients by working with the team. Candidates must have strong communication skills and the ability to converse comfortably with patients and their caregivers.

Qualifications

LICENSES, CERTIFICATIONS, and/or REGISTRATIONS (if applicable): Valid Massachusetts Nursing and Nurse Practitioner License, Current and Valid Nurse Practitioner Certification, DEA, MCSR

EDUCATION:

Minimum Required:

Master's Degree

EXPERIENCE:

* Preferred: Prior NP experience preferred however we will train the right candidate based on overall experience. Neurology specific experience. Psychiatry experience and or Psychiatry Certified Nurse Practitioner

WORKING CONDITIONS:

* Busy ambulatory practice setting, Boston and Waltham Clinics

* Normal office conditions

* Normal business hours: Monday - Friday

* There may be an opportunity to perform telehealth visits remotely one day per week after successful completion of orientation.
