Summary:
Project HOPE/Health Affairs is looking for a data visualization Intern. The Intern will provide research and analysis of data graphics, infographics, charts, and graphs to the Graphic Design and Production Teams at Health Affairs, of Project HOPE. The Intern will gain valuable knowledge and experience about best practices for displaying data in an interactive and engaging way, specifically in the field of health care and health policy.

Responsibilities:
Research and analyze interactive data and visual storytelling components of Health Affairs and other health policy and public health institutions.
Catalogue Health Affairs journal exhibit figures and data graphics.
Participate in data storytelling projects, turning complex data sets into clear visualizations.
Other duties and tasks as assigned.

Learning Outcomes:
Understanding best practices from the field of interactive data use and housing.
Gain an understanding of choosing the appropriate applying the strongest visualization choice for displaying any particular data--"the right tool for the job."
Familiarity with asset management tools for data exhibits.

Qualifications:
Some experience or familiarity with Adobe software, such as Illustrator, Photoshop, and Bridge.
Familiarity with interactive data visualization software, such as Flourish and Storymap.
Experience with ArcGIS a bonus.
Junior or Senior Undergraduate.
Graduate Student Preferred.
Strong research, writing, and editing skills.
Ability to multi-task and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced work environment.
Ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet applications.
Ability to work productively in a team environment as well as under minimal supervision, taking the initiative to ask questions as needed.
