Qualitative Research Project Intern| Health Affairs, Health Affairs

Summary:
Project HOPE is looking for a Qualitative Research Project Intern. The Intern will provide support to the Editorial department of Health Affairs at Project HOPE for a Health Affairs project designed to enhance the usefulness of qualitative research for health policy. S/he/they will gain valuable knowledge and experience about the use of qualitative research in health policy, academic publishing, the collection and analysis of qualitative data, project management, and synthesis of expert opinions.

Responsibilities:
Assist in gathering expert opinions from qualitative and health policy/health services researchers
Assist in synthesizing expert opinions
Assist in analyzing qualitative research published by Health Affairs, including assisting in updating and maintaining an existing database of qualitative publications
May assist in conducting and/or analyzing semi-structured interviews related to the project
Other duties and tasks as assigned

Learning Outcomes:
Intern will gain knowledge and experience related to the use of qualitative research in health policy
Intern will gain knowledge and experience related to academic publishing
Intern may gain knowledge and experience related to conducting and/or analyzing semi-structured interviews
Intern will gain experience working in a team environment


Qualifications:
Academic experience in the social sciences and preferably familiarity with qualitative inquiry
Interest in health research and/or health policy
Junior or Senior Undergraduate
Graduate Student Preferred
Strong research, writing, and editing skills
Ability to multi-task and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet applications
Ability to work productively in a team environment as well as under minimal supervision, taking the initiative to ask questions as needed
