Summary:
Project HOPE is looking
for a Subscription Sales & Data Intern. The Intern will provide sales prospecting and subscription data support to the Health
Affairs Subscription Sales Team of Project HOPE. S/he/they will gain valuable
knowledge and experience about how a subscription program is managed, as well
as learn new technologies including a CRM and fulfillment database. S/he/they
will also gain a deeper understanding of specific humanitarian crisis as well
as NGO, UN and USG responses.

Responsibilities:
Research and prospect potential organizational customers and enter into Customer Relationship Management (CRM) database of contacts organized by different categories of companies
Review journal subscription customer data for anomalies in order to enhance customer demographic information
Create reports in Altmetric Explorer for Health Affairs staff review and use
Attend key subscription sales and staff meetings[KP1]
Act as an extension of the subscription sales team by supporting prospecting and data standardization goals
Other duties and tasks as assigned
Learning Outcomes:
Learn about Health Affairs' customer base
Learn new technologies, including HubSpot (CRM) and Altmetric Explorer
Enhance Excel and database skills
Learn about publishing and the need for sales and data expertise
Understand which data points are of most interest to the Health Affairs business team and why
Qualifications:
Junior or Senior Undergraduate
Graduate Student Preferred
Ability to multi-task and prioritize various tasks in a fast-paced work environment
Ability to work effectively and accurately with MS Outlook, Word, Excel, and internet applications
Ability to work productively in a team environment as well as under minimal supervision, taking the initiative to ask questions as needed
The ability to learn new technologies quickly
Excellent oral and written communications skills
Highly organized and strong attention to detail
Able to work independently and within a team.
Preferred Qualifications:
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Knowledge of policy and health care issues
Interest in sales and/or business development.
Experience working with data and using a database
