Responsibilities

The cloud software engineer will work, within the Compute Team, with a massively parallel enterprise platform, built with Java on Free and Open-Source Software products including Kubernetes, Hadoop and Accumulo, to enable execution of data-intensive analytics on a managed infrastructure. Peraton is seeking a self-motivated Java developer who proactively completes tasks with a strong attention to detail. The candidate must be able to work independently and as part of a team and will be exposed to a variety of technologies depending on customer requirements.

Qualifications

Basic Qualifications:

    Active TS/SCI security clearance with a current polygraph is required
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related discipline from an accredited college or university is required
  • Four (4) years of additional SWE experience on projects with similar software processes may be substituted for a Bachelor's degree
  • Minimally, the candidate should be skilled in Java, database technologies (MySQL Postgres etc) and have some experience with Map Reduce programming model and technologies (such as Hadoop, Hive, Pig, etc)
  • Possess additional knowledge of Linux OS development, Docker, Kubernetes, Python, and Ansible

Preferred Qualifications

  • Familiarity with microservices software development technique and container-orchestration (e.g., Kubernetes)

Target Salary Range
$86,000 - $138,000. This represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
