Responsibilities

Configuration Managers/Configuration Controllers provide the overall configuration management (CM) environment and infrastructure and provide administrative direction, oversight, and discipline over the life cycle of both hardware and software configuration items on developmental and operational systems. They verify that engineering documentation is received in the proper format and that complete, accurate, legible changes are properly incorporated in a timely fashion. Configuration Managers/Configuration Controllers perform a broad spectrum of duties and: - Develop or modify CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the system - Use or recommend automated CM tools to implement CM policies and procedures and to create CM builds/ baselines - Perform physical configuration audits to validate CM baselines - Provide life cycle management of hardware and software configuration items

Qualifications

The qualifications listed are the minimum acceptable to be considered for the position. ENTRY/DEVELOPMENTAL Entry is with a high school diploma or GED. FULL PERFORMANCE Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 4 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must include at least one of the following: working with basic office resources (e.g., e-mail, web browsers, word processors, and presentation graphics), administrative tasks, customer service tasks including using specialized computer tools, equipment and materials (e.g., database management, configuration control), or serving on a configuration control board. SENIOR Entry is with a high school diploma or GED plus 6 years of relevant experience, or an Associate's degree plus 4 years of relevant experience, or a Bachelor's degree plus 2 years of relevant experience. A degree in any field is acceptable. Relevant experience must include at least one of the following: working with basic office resources (e.g., e-mail, web browsers, word processors, and presentation graphics), administrative tasks, customer service tasks including using specialized computer tools, equipment and materials (e.g., database management, configuration control), or serving on a configuration control board.

Competencies

The optimal candidate is someone with strong organizational, analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills, and has knowledge or experience in several of the following areas: - Working with CM tools - Creating and maintaining configuration baselines for development, test, and production environments - Developing and/or refining CM plans, policies, and procedures tailored to the complexity and scope of the developmental, test, and operational systems - Implementing the CM discipline for the entire life cycle of the system from initial requirements/capabilities baselines to system end-of-life - Performing change control and configuration audits Degree in Information Technology (IT) is preferred. Pay, Benefits, & Work Schedule

Pay: Salary offers are based on candidates' education level and years of experience relevant to the position and also take into account information provided by the hiring manager/organization regarding the work level for the position. Salary Range: $34,121 - $153,354 (Entry/Developmental, Full Performance, Senior) Salary range varies by work level and relevant experience to the position. On the job training, internal NSA courses, and external training will be made available based on the need and experience of the selectee. Work Schedule: This is a full-time position, Monday - Friday, with basic 8hr/day work requirement between 6:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. (flexible).
