Description:

eVigilant is seeking an Service Technician to provide service and maintenance, electronic security system installations of security equipment and cabling in accordance with all applicable plans, specifications,

codes, customer and industry standards. As a Service Technician you should have the work experience installing and repairing basic equipment which involves using hand tools and power tools, a basic understanding of Security Systems including CCTV, access control and intrusion detection systems, blueprints and knowledge of codes and standards. Technician shall make every effort to become certified in multiple manufacturers systems.

Responsibilities:


  • The ability to learn to work independently on small and medium projects with some supervision on security system installation projects.
  • Knowledgeandsafeuseof hand tools and various power tools
  • Ensure compliance withSafetyPolicies andProcedures
  • Communicates effectively with other team members
  • Know the scheduled delivery dates for all critical path material and equipment
  • Locate and alleviate trouble with damaged equipment or wiring.
  • Readjust equipment, repair, or replace inoperative equipment and test for operation.
  • Experience working with DMP, Lenel, Gallagher, Honeywell, and other type systems
  • Experience and ability to work with X10 and LKM locksets
  • Work on an on call/after hours basis as needed
  • Coordinate inspections and/or installations with police, fire departments, or other appropriate agencies.
  • Performs repair and/or inspections of intrusion detection, CCTV, and Access Control systems.
  • Assists fellow service technicians with system repairs and completes minor repairs including battery replacement.
  • Tests operation of system to the customer monitoring center to properly establish service connectivity.
  • Complete all forms and customer paperwork accurate and thoroughly required.
  • Maintainaclean work areaand participateinjob site clean up
  • Follow a plan for sequence of work while working with other techs and helpers
  • Performs other duties and responsibilities as requested or required

Basic Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 3 years direct work experience with electronic security systems and installation of those systems
  • High School diploma orGEDis required
  • Must have an excellent safety record, a valid driver'slicense,and clean driving record in order to meet corporate eligibility requirements to drive a company owned vehicle as necessary
  • Must be able to pass and maintain a USG security clearance/background check
  • Demonstrated experience and ability to read and understanding plans and specifications
  • Strong communications, time management and organization skills to meet deadlines and quality objectives
  • Consistently report to work on time, work well with other to accomplish a common goal and maintain a safe work environment
  • Ability to lift a minimum of 50lbs, work at various heights up to 60 feet and can climb and maintain balance on scaffolds, aerial lifts, catwalks and all types of ladders
  • Walks, climbs, lifts, squats, crawls, kneels, pushes, pulls and reaches overhead on a routine and repetitive basis

Preferred Qualifications

  • Electronics Certification from an accredited Technical School or equivalent military training.
  • Certifications or classroom training and experience with fiber and networks, as well as a working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft programs and databases
  • Valid Certification in one or more of the following: AMAG, Lenel, DMP, Gallagher, Hirsch or Bosch
