Seneca Global Services, LLC is seeking a Data Management (DM) Specialist in the National Capital Region to support our Department of Defense client. The candidate will support the Seneca Senior Data Management Specialist to establish an enterprise-wide data governance framework that supports implementation of the client data strategy and vision for advancing data analytics to improve decision-making.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Establish and support a process to centrally manage data and reporting requirements pertaining to data analytic use cases and support allocation of requirements to optimize developer resources.
  • Assess the current DM policies and processes and identify improvements from a governance standpoint.
  • Recommend actions needed to effectively manage the governance over the movement, storage, and access to data and ensure compliance with platform standards.
  • Define the governance framework of data management processes, activities, actors, tools, and measures.
  • Develop the roadmap and facilitate implementation of the framework paced by priorities.
  • Assist with the administration of the governance organization to improve effectiveness.
  • Coordinate with data owners and stewards to communicate governance requirements and address their concerns.
  • Assist with implementation of the governance framework using platform tools including data catalog, data usage registry, and related reporting features.
  • Oversee maintenance of the enterprise metadata registry that includes an inventory of authoritative systems and owners.
  • Monitor the effectiveness of data governance and make recommendations for continuous improvement.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Arts or Science from an accredited university or college, scientific or technical discipline preferred.
  • Must have a minimum 3 years of experience supporting Federal clients with implementing data management practices.
  • Ability to develop collaborative, cooperative and constructive working relationships, resolve conflicts and negotiate with others, with strong cultural awareness.
  • Strong organizational skills, results oriented, willingness to prioritize workload and drive operations to completion.
  • Must have active SECRET clearance (an Interim Secret is acceptable).
  • Must have competent writing skills, and the ability to work independently in Microsoft 365. Writing samples may be requested.

Desired Skills:

  • Up to date knowledge of Collibra Data Governance Center functionalities.
  • Knowledge of DoD CDAO vision, strategy, and Advancing Analytics (Advana) platform
