Arete is on the lookout for an Optical Engineer, Laser. This role is crucial in the design and construction of solid-state and fiber laser systems. The responsibilities involve modeling and simulating laser performance, orchestrating measurements and diagnostics, and gathering critical performance data. This role also demands the analysis of experimental data to validate system performance theories. A significant part of the job includes conducting research and development in lasers and electro-optical systems. The Optical Engineer will be expected to develop and document diagnostics and processes for laser system evaluation and fabrication, and to develop component specifications, tolerances, simulations, and test procedures. This position is vital as a principal investigator for DoD research and development projects and requires the submission of technical proposals for these programs. This position is based in our Niwot, CO office and may require some travel to other program sites, as needed. This is an exempt non-supervisory full-time position.

The salary range for this role is $120,000 to $170,000; however, Arete considers several factors when extending an offer of employment, including but not limited to: the position and associated responsibilities, a candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills.
