Job Description
Job Responsibilities
  • Develop and provide horizontal and vertical controls for the construction team.
  • Prepares accurate two or three-dimensional maps and plans to assist in the construction of projects.
  • Measures and monitors projects as well as produce maps, plans, and charts.
  • Conducts topographical surveying, heavy civil construction surveying, and construction stakeout.
  • Collects, interprets, and computes field data.
  • Maintains accurate surveys, field notes, reports, sketches, vertical and horizontal control notes in files, field book and computer.
  • Utilizes survey equipment to capture as-built data for 3D models and CAD.
  • Produces up-to-date plans to ensure that a structure is built in the correct spot, to the correct size, and ensuring that the construction takes place to the dimensions and tolerances required.
  • Monitors the construction process to make sure that the structure remains in the right position, and recording the final as-built position.
  • Additional duties as assigned/required.

Qualifications/ Requirements
  • Skilled in using complex optical and electronic instruments and equipment.
  • Ability to work in a dynamic team environment.
  • Experience using computers, Autocad, and/or Carlson software.
  • Experience with Total Station, both robotic and standard (Survey points, resection, stake-out, traverse).
  • Experience with GPS preferred.
  • Construction background preferred, including but not limited to: strong survey techniques in heavy civil construction, building/grid layout, various building systems layout, equipment/anchorage layout, foundation and bolt templates layout, and as-built verification.
