STV is seeking a Transportation Engineer to join the team. This position offers excellent potential for career advancement as this individual would assist staff and our other offices who have a direct impact on the improvement of our national infrastructure.
The ideal candidate is an individual who desires to be part of a team, displays confidence, and possesses a vast understanding of roadway design principles.
Responsibilities include:
- Providing professional design services for transportation improvement projects for the MDOT (SHA, MdTA, MTA and MPA), Baltimore City and other County/City agencies
- Developing design plans including horizontal and vertical alignments, cross sections, typical sections, superelevation data and miscellaneous roadway detail sheets
- Designing to adhere to ADA Standards
- Coordinating design development and providing technical direction and mentorship to the design team
- Coordinating with the design team to achieve quality deliverables within the established schedule and budget, and the development of specifications, cost estimates, reports and preparing final bid packages
- Assisting with the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
- Maintaining relationships with client technical staff and project managers
- Attending project meetings with clients, sub-consultants, and the project team
Required Skills:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering
- Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- MDOT and municipal client experience is a plus
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive transportation design experience
- Proficient with MicroStation and Inroads/Corridor modeling design software
- OpenRoads Designer experience is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft Office Suite
- Familiarity with AASHTO and local agency design standards is required.
- Strong oral and written communication skills
Compensation Range:
