Aspire is a growing nonprofit organization of the Massachusetts General Hospital. We offer a variety of high-quality therapeutic programs and services that focus on helping children with high cognitive autism spectrum disorders and related profiles develop increased self-awareness, social competency, and stress management skills.

The Program Assistant is a seasonal position working to manage the program needs for the teen and adult summer programs. The role is onsite at the program location in Newton. The Program Assistant is responsible for helping the Manager of Operations and Explorations Program Managers manage the day-to-day operations of the summer programs. Responsibilities include: coordinate participant arrival and departure, organize program materials, provide program support to participants during some activities, coordinate supply needs for field trips, manage timecards for summer staff, manage inventory and help to ensure that summer staff can perform their jobs as efficiently and effectively as possible.

The Program Assistant reports directly to the onsite Program Manager and Aspire's Admin Manager. This is a 40 hour per week paid position for 6 program weeks that includes 40 hours of mandatory and paid training prior to the start of the program; along with mid-summer parent conferences. Additionally, opportunities are available to help with pre-program support.

Qualifications

* Enrolled in, or graduate of, an undergraduate program.

* Prior experience working with adolescents with autism spectrum disorders is preferred but not required.

* Excellent organizational skills.

* Strong attention to detail.

* Strong interpersonal and team-building skills.

* Openness to receiving feedback.

* Basic computer skills. MS Word required; knowledge of Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook necessary.

* Good basic writing skills.

* Ability to work independently and be flexible.

* Problem-solving skills.
