Scope of Work:

The Sr. Accounting Manager will be responsible for oversight of various accounting functions. Responsibilities include monitoring the monthly financial close process, including ensuring all costs incurred are properly recorded, reviewing journal entries, account balance reconciliations and financial statement preparation. In addition, The Sr. Accounting Manager will participate in the ongoing development and establishment of accounting policies and procedures and operational strategies including the review and implementation of process and system changes.

The ideal candidate possesses leadership capabilities, solid operational and technical accounting background and works proactively to drive results. This person is a self-starter, flexible, has a high level of integrity and is action and goal-oriented in a fast-paced, team-oriented, collaborative environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Continued focus on improving system efficiencies and business practices.
  • Participate in strategic financial projects including accounting system upgrades and implementations.
  • Create and ensure compliance with internal control policies.
  • Collaborate with external auditors to ensure successful audit results and compliance.
  • Interacts at all levels and with budget owners or other stakeholders to produce timely, efficient, and accurate month-end close and all internal management and financial reporting.
  • Maintain the chart of accounts to ensure accuracy in the general ledger and financial statements.
  • Analyze the effect of statutory accounting practices and studies regulations and guidance to ensure correct application of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles.
  • Make recommendations for changes as needed and ensure that company policies and procedures are followed and establishes the proper techniques to discover errors.
  • Prepare detailed journal entries and account analyses.
  • Special projects and tasks as directed.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, Economics or equivalent work experience.
  • Excellent financial modeling skills.
  • Ability to Interact proactively and collaboratively with all levels of the organization including executive leadership teams.
  • Collaborate with CFO and Controller on plans for model development and enhancements.
  • Help research and communicate results comparing actual vs forecast and plan to senior executives monthly with insight on main drivers/trends.
  • 10+ years of related experience.
  • Must maintain licenses and/or credentials required for this position.
  • Ability to speak, read, and write English.
  • Must be able to work independently and interact well with others in a team setting.
  • Must be capable of working under tight time constraints in a high-volume environment with multiple priorities.
  • Highly motivated, flexible organized and must be detail oriented.
  • Strong customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Must be able to maintain ability to access government worksite.
  • Must be able to work alternate and extended shift schedules when necessary to meet the mission requirements of the customer to include weekends and holidays.
  • Must be able to successfully complete a drug/alcohol test and a criminal record check.
