The National Rural Electric Cooperative Association (NRECA) is a national non-profit trade association representing the interests of more than 900 consumer-owned cooperative electric utilities serving over 40 million people located in 48 states. Summary of Position

We are looking for a strong customer service tech-savvy team member to serve programs related to Group and Retirement plan compliance. To engage and collaborate with departments across NRECA in the monitoring and management of Benefits Compliance Information Technology initiatives and projects. Serve as a technical resource to cooperatives and internal staff regarding Benefits compliance policies and procedures, systems, and data resources.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead small-medium projects related to changes in legislative rules and regulations, technical updates, or business practices that impact current systems and processes.
  • Collaborate with Information Technology staff to develop, maintain, and enhance multiple systems and data resources including, Compliance Database, 401(k) recordkeeping system, SharePoint, member website, and Task Source.
  • Oversee and manage UAT efforts related to IT project work for Group and Retirement, ensuring issues are resolved and resolution is timely.
  • Review, monitor, and evaluate data, functionality, and infrastructure to ensure all activities are accurate and efficient and that automation is working as expected.
  • Participate in compliance communications on a wide variety of topics and respond to inquiries from both member cooperatives and internal operations staff.
  • Serves as a technical resource for ActiveDocs, program in place to manage core Group and Retirement documents.
  • Manages extensive text and logic changes often subject to tight deadlines.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration or a related field or an equivalent combination of education, and training.
  • At least 2-5 years applying general plan benefit knowledge; completion of related industry-sponsored retirement administration courses, i.e., ASPPA, CEBS a plus.
  • At least 1-3 years of project management and analysis experience.
  • Training or knowledge of Project Management methodologies and terms such as Agile, Waterfall, Scrum, and Story are a plus.
  • Ability to apply general knowledge of ERISA, IRS, and DOL regulations and laws related to the defined contribution and defined benefit plan administration.
  • Ability to successfully conduct business research, elicit and effectively translate requirements, analyze, design workflows, and oversee testing for projects with competing deadlines and priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in the Retirement/Group Health industry, drafting acceptance criteria, project management experience, tech-savvy and comfortable leveraging technology.

Essential Physical Requirements:

  • Requires close visual acuity to perform activities, such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing and writing; viewing a computer terminal; and reading details.
  • Requires ability to exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects. If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.
