Job Description

The Senior Technical Advisor plays a pivotal role in shaping and executing projects to advance nuclear safety, security, and nonproliferation objectives. They translate policy directives into impactful capacity-building programs, requiring effective management people and budget management skills and the ability to collaborate with subject matter experts across academia, non-profit, industry, and government sectors.

Prerequisites for the position are:

  • Demonstrated expertise in nuclear nonproliferation or technology, with a focus on program management.
  • Track record of successfully managing U.S. government-funded projects, ensuring timely delivery and documented results.
  • Proven leadership skills, including the supervision of geographically dispersed teams, mentorship, and workforce planning.
  • Strong financial acumen, with the ability to manage resources and budgets accurately.
  • Exceptional communication skills, vital for engaging stakeholders and fostering productive relationships.
  • Experience in business development, encompassing proposal writing, program design, and partner engagement.

Programming includes but not limited to:

Major Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of a program portfolio with an annual revenue exceeding $19M, including direct management of a $10M program and supervision of managers overseeing $9M in programs.
  • Development of innovative program concepts aligned with funder objectives, with a focus on nuclear energy adoption and nonproliferation.
  • Leadership of a dispersed team, encompassing recruitment, development, and compliance with organizational policies.
  • Coordination of communication and reporting with funders, stakeholders, and senior management.
  • Engagement with external subject matter experts to inform program strategies and activities.
  • Representation of CRDF Global at scientific and business conferences, leading delegations and delivering presentations.
  • Management of partnerships to support program goals and objectives.
  • Development of annual program and project plans, ensuring alignment with contractual responsibilities.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE REQUIREMENTS:

  • Master's degree in a related field, with a focus on nuclear nonproliferation or technology preferred.
  • Minimum of 8 years of project/program management experience, with a demonstrated track record of success.
  • At least 5 years of supervisory experience, including performance management and professional development.
  • Ability to translate ambitious ideas into actionable projects, with a keen eye for detail and strategic alignment.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, with the ability to engage stakeholders at all levels.
  • Proven customer relationship management skills, fostering trust and collaboration with funders and partners.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally, up to 25% as required.
  • U.S. work authorization and eligibility for security clearance are mandatory.

Salary & Benefits: The base pay range for this position is $139,600 to $150,000. The determination of salaries in this job classification depends on several factors, including, but not limited to, relevant candidate experience, job-related knowledge, qualifications and skills.
