ICMA is seeking a Manager, Corporate Partnerships to manage, service, and provide customer relationship management to ICMA Strategic Partners, sponsors, and prospects. The position assists in strategy development, implementation of client programs and deliverables, and management of account relations.

The Manager, Corporate Partnerships reports to the Managing Director, Conferences, Events, and Sponsorships.

What You'll Do:

  • Serves as liaison with related staff responsible for delivering sponsorship benefits (e.g., recognition in publications, mailing list use, content-related benefits, event-related benefits, etc.)
  • Coordinate all sponsor recognition - ensuring that recognition in all communication vehicles is consistent and proportionate to fees paid - with the cooperation of all departments that impact sponsorships
  • Assist sponsors and partners, when possible, in measuring their return on investment
  • Conduct, with Managing Director, Conferences, Events & Sponsorships and Senior Manager, Events & Sponsorships meetings with sponsors to review marketing objectives and facilitate renewals
  • Manage fulfillment of benefits and produce sponsor fulfillment reports detailing sponsor benefits delivered
  • Manage research on prospective sponsors/prospects
  • Prepares all sponsor and partner contracts for Director/Senior Manager approval
  • Assist in the preparation of all sales materials and presentations with Managing Director. Tailor sponsorship sales materials to targeted companies/categories
  • Coordinate audience surveys on demographics, purchasing habits, sponsor recall and loyalty and report results to appropriate staff and sponsors
  • Sources and conducts research on marketing/sponsorship items for conferences. Manages procurement process of these items with the Senior Manager.

What You Need To Be Successful In This Role:

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a business, marketing, or related discipline
  • Three (3) to Five (5) years of progressive experience in client relationship management experience, preferably within in a partnership/sponsorship program

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)

  • Experience in partnership marketing, brand management, consulting, account management, or business development
  • Ability to establish and maintain positive and effective relationships with sponsors, growing these relationships over time and leading to successful renewal
  • Ability to establish effective relationships with vendors for successful implementation of sponsor deliverables
  • Strong project management, analytical and strategic thinking skills
  • Strong work ethic, time management, and organizational skills; ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent interpersonal, communication and presentation skills; ability to deal diplomatically with a wide variety of individuals
  • Ability to self-prioritize and work on multiple projects simultaneously
  • Sound judgment, tactful and ability to handle highly confidential information
  • Strong computer software and Internet proficiency
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word, Excel, and PowerPoint or equivalent Windows based software package

This position is based out of ICMA's headquarters, located in Washington, D.C., although ICMA is currently working remotely. The selected individual must be able to work the core business hours from 8:30 am to 5:00 pm EST. Travel domestically and internationally may be required.
