RK&K Construction Management and Engineering is currently hiring a Senior Electrical Inspector with an active Master Electrician License to join our team in the Washington DC metro area. As a Senior construction inspector you will perform complex and routine inspections of high and low voltage electrical systems for building access systems, lighting and other utility systems, network systems, for new and ongoing commercial construction projects. Specifically related to mass transit facilities.

• Evaluate appropriate materials and construction processes are being used; and that construction conforms to plans, specifications, and special provisions
• Review drawings and specifications to prepare for the inspections. Understand the design of the construction that will be inspected and advise teams on appropriate changes as needed
• Create daily reports, document the results of the inspection, and maintain organized, detailed, and up to date field files
• Administer and implement the quality assurance/quality control programs of the client and/or contract
• Conduct field measurements to establish quantities for pay item documentation as well as other contract administration documentation

Required Experience

• Must have experience in construction or inspection of utility lines
• Active Master Electrician registration or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
• Experience in the construction of low and high voltage electrical systems including access control, lighting, telecommunications
• Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
• Excellent communication skills
• Strong record keeping ability
• Microsoft Office proficiency

Preferred Experience

• Experience working in tunnels is preferred
• Experience working in transit/rail environment is preferred
• Experience with PDF annotators such as Bluebeam for drawing mark-up/as-built documentation is preferred

Other Requirements

• Willingness to work nights and weekends as required by the project
• Valid driver's license and favorable driving record
