Where People Thrive
At Benchmark Human Services (Benchmark), we help support people throughout life, from infancy to elder years. Our team is 3,400-strong and serves more than 10,000 children and adults throughout the United States. We work with people at home, at work, and in the community, through residential, employment, crisis response, behavioral, recovery, children’s services, and day services.
Founded in 1960 and headquartered in Fort Wayne, Indiana, Benchmark has grown to become one of the most respected organizations in the country in the areas of intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and behavioral health. In addition to our work with individuals, Align by Benchmark consults for state governments and private organizations in systems design and development, best practices, provider capacity building, facility evaluation, staff training, and other areas.
Our mission is to help people live as independently as possible, be included in the community, and function at their maximum potential.
At Benchmark, we want the people we serve to enjoy the best health possible, be safe in all activities, and be respected in all aspects of life. These values are the foundation of everything we do. Ensuring the health, safety and respect of individuals we serve is a process we follow every day by individualizing services for the people we support, hiring the right employees and training them to implement and maintain our processes and high standards, and by conducting regular monitoring and measuring of these processes and standards.
Benchmark Human Services believes in the potential of all people. Our vision is to create a diverse and equitable environment where individuals of all backgrounds and experiences have a voice and participate in making decisions that help Benchmark Human Services fulfill its mission to drive person-centered outcomes for individuals served. Our mission is to foster a culture that recognizes and honors the unique set of experiences and perspectives of our employees, as well as the individuals we support. We will strive for full inclusion at all levels of the organization. Benchmark is committed to maximizing both individual contributions and organizational effectiveness through the diversity of our workforce.
At Benchmark, we’re guided by our mission: to help people live as independently as possible, be included in the community and function at their maximum potential.
We depend on our more than 3,400 employees to carry out that mission every day. That’s why we look for individuals with a strong work ethic and who are enthusiastic, reliable, compassionate, and creative—those who possess strength and heart. If you possess these traits and are looking for a fulfilling career in which you can make a difference in people’s lives, consider Benchmark. Being a caregiver requires balance. It takes knowing when to help, and when to encourage others to help themselves.
